Future Perfect is a UK electronic music project formed in 2009 in North Wales, centred around songwriter, producer and vocalist Simone Owen.

Blending elements of synthpop, futurepop, EBM and dark electronic pop, Future Perfect have developed a sound that balances melodic accessibility with lyrically introspective and darker themes.

Taking inspiration from the emotional depth of Depeche Mode and Joy Division, the experimental spirit of early Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, the pop sensibilities of Pet Shop Boys and the layered soundscapes of Jean Michel Jarre, the project has consistently focused on forward-looking electronic production rather than retro pastiche.

Future Perfect released their debut album Dirty Little Secrets in 2010, establishing their reputation within the UK and European synth scenes for strong hooks paired with brooding lyrical content. This was followed by Escape (2012), a more emotionally charged release shaped by personal upheaval, which broadened the project’s audience and led to wider international recognition, including support from electronic label Conzoom Records.

The After The Fall EP arrived in 2015, refining the band’s darker dance-pop identity and confirming their place within the modern electronic underground scenes, with their Futurepop contemporaries such as Mesh & Covenant & Apoptygma Bezerk. Over the years, Future Perfect have become a regular feature on the live electronic circuit, sharing stages with artists such as Tenek, Vile Electrodes, Parralox, Northern Kind, and Avec Sans, and performing across the UK and abroad.

In October 2024, Future Perfect released their fourth studio album, Touch, widely praised for its confident songwriting, polished production, and seamless fusion of fast-paced EBM tracks with more reflective, melodic moments. The album marked a creative high point for the project, reinforcing its established sound while demonstrating continued growth and relevance within contemporary electronic music.

Now firmly established as a respected name in UK electronic music, Future Perfect continue to evolve, creating emotionally resonant, synth-driven songs that look firmly to the future while remaining rooted in expressive, human storytelling.

Future Perfect is now in progress with their fifth album, entitled “Faultline” due to be released in 2027.
