DarkateK started collecting records and making electronic music in the mid nineties. After doing a degree in Music Technology he started finishing some tracks and worked a few years (99 – 02) at a Portuguese music distribution company (Music Power) where he spent all of his wages and heard thousands of records. After being in Lisbon’s scene for a while, he moved to Brighton where he lived and played many house parties, every club in town and a few festivals like Glastonbury, Sunrise, Waveform, Numb Numbs (Brazil) to name a few, until 2013.

Between 2013 and 2016 he moved between South America, Ibiza and Gran Canaria, and in 2016 he went back to his hometown (Lisbon) where he built his home studio and has been making music since.

DarkateK released his first EP in 2011 in collaboration with Tony Montana which came out on Naked Lunch Records. Since then he has released two solo EPs with T1 Music contributed to compilations on Ovelha Trax and Elberec and has also released his first vinyl on Ancient Technologies (February 2025) and an EP on the mighty Bass Agenda Recordings (May 2025) that you can check here:
